About Doshisha University

Where is Doshisha University?

Doshisha University has two campuses.
Located in the heart of Kyoto city, north of the Kyoto Imperial Palace (‘Kyoto Gosho’) and just in front of the renowned Shokoku-Ji temple, Imadegawa campus is the birthplace of Doshisha University and itself a historic landmark for over 135 years. The beautiful campus with redbrick buildings contrasting with the green of surrounding trees which consists 5 important cultural assets and 2 registered tangible cultural properties, are used for lectures and services. Studying at such learning environment where the origin of Japanese history and culture lies provides great intercultural experiences to students.
The Kyotanabe campus is located in southern Kyoto.The vast campus (79,000m²) is blessed with the rich natural surroundings of green mountains. The campus is also equipped with the newest information facilities. Over 27,000 students, including international students are studying in the best possible environment.
