Japanese Language and Culture Subjects (For Undergraduate/Graduate International Students)

“Japanese Language and Culture Subjects” are offered to International Students (regular students and special students) enrolled in Doshisha University and to students who are eager to learn Japanese language and culture.

Subject of General and Liberal Education (For Undergraduate/Graduate Students)

Eligible Undergraduate/Graduate Students

Students whose ID number start with other than 2992

The Center offers subjects which domestic students can take and study with international students as Subject of General and Liberal Education.

Global Education Module

Eligible

Exchange students under university-level agreement

Students whose ID number start with 2992

This is an English-based Module intended for international students accepted under university-level agreement.
Courses on Japanese Culture, Society, and Nature are conducted in English.

Japanese Language and Culture Module

Eligible Exchange students under university-level agreement, Students under faculty-level agreement
Students whose ID number start with 2992

This is a Japanese-based Module intended for international students accepted under university-level and faculty-level agreement.
The curriculum is designed in accordance with the students' Japanese level and the purpose of their study in Japan.

Japanese Studies Students Program

Eligible Japanese Government Scholarship international students recommended by Embassy (Japanese studies students)
Japanese Government Scholarship international students recommended by University (Japanese studies students)

This program is provided to the recipients of Japanese Government Scholarship for undergraduate international students who are majoring in fields related to the Japanese language and/or Japanese culture.
It is a one-year program starting in September and specialized in Japanese language, Japanese affairs and Japanese culture.

Preparatory Educational Program

Eligible The recipients of Japanese Government Scholarship for graduate school level research students recommended by embassy whose initial Japanese skills were deemed insufficient by their university on arriving in Japan.

The purpose of this program is to provide Japanese-language preparatory education to the Japanese Government Scholarship recipients(※), whose initial Japanese skills were deemed insufficient by their university, before they begin their advanced education.
(※refers to graduate school level Research Students recommended by the Japanese embassy)
