Japanese Language Introductory Course

We offer a Japanese Language Introductory Course for Undergraduate/Graduate International (Regular, Special) Students with little or no prior experience in learning Japanese.
Students who are placed in “Beginner Level” on the Japanese Language Placement Test can take the course.
The course is offered at both the Imadegawa and Kyotanabe campuse, and students can take the course at their main campus. Classes are divided into three levels (A–C) to match students’ proficiency. Each class meets twice a week for 70 minutes over a 10-week semester. This is an extracurricular course and no credits are awarded.
Please note: ILA students are not eligible for this course. ILA students who are placed in “Beginner Level” on Japanese Language Placement Test should register for “Basic Japanese” offered by ILA.
